On January 17, 2021, the Board published a letter -- shown below -- concerning the use of "wake boats" and other wave-enhancing equipment. This expands the historic agreement among Lake Julia users that jet skis and wave runners are not appropriate in the relatively narrow confines of Lake Julia, an agreement that has been observed for over 30 years.
March, 2022: The literature concerning adverse effects of boat wakes continues to grow. A just-released study by the University of Minnesota concludes that wakeboats operated for wakesurfing should stay more than 500 feet from shorelines, docks and other boats to allow their wakes to decrease to levels similar to those from ordinary watercraft. https://conservancy.umn.edu/handle/11299/226190.
