Residents and old-timers call it "Lake Julia". The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and most maps, calls it "Julia Lake." In any case, it is a 404-acre lake spanning Oneida and Forest Counties, Wisconsin, having a healthy maximum depth of 45 feet and an average depth of 18 feet. The shoreline of 6.4 miles -- over 2.5 miles long from west to east -- comfortably accommodates 49 houses. The earliest of these was "Piney Woods" at the boat landing (1910), followed in 1912 by the "Point House". Building materials were ferried across the wintertime ice from the Chicago & Northwestern railroad line then located between Virgin and Julia Lakes.
This site is for the use of Lake Julia residents, although most of it is accessible to the public. Certain directory lists, documents, and picture elements are "restricted" to registered lake residents; click HERE for more information.
Upon request , any resident may edit pages or add pages of their own creation. For example, you may want to add to the In Memoriam section. Or you may have a idea, cause or event to publicize to the lake community. To edit or add pages, you will need to know a bit about "Google Sites"; ask the administrator for access and guidance.
The Association seeks your support for the costs of our (successful, so far) efforts to keep Eurasian Water Milfoil out of Lake Julia, including monitoring of boats using the "public" landing, through the state's "Clean Boats, Clean Waters" (CBCW) program . Details about EWM and monitoring program are in the "Invasive Species" section HERE.
In 2022, a total of $7,500 was received from individuals and family groups representing all corners of the lake. The annual cost of the Program is about $12,000; the State provides grant funds to cover about $4,000 of this amount. Donate on the Support page.
Your support of the the "Clean Boats, Clean Waters" program is vital. There is now an extensive record concerning EWM in the Three Lakes chain, including the persistent and growing EWM invasion of Virgin Lake just downstream from us:

Historically, the Three Lakes Waterfront Association map omitted Lake Julia, presumably because (1) much of the lake is in Forest County and (2) the eastern extension of Lake Julia made the map impossible to scale for purposes of versions to be printed on physical items like T-shirts, or paper, or anything else.
Sometime around 2021, the official TLWA map was amended to include Lake Julia., as shown below. The T-shirts have not, as of November 2023, been so amended.
