Editor-in-chief
The editor-in-chief has primary responsibility for the news and editorial content of La Voz News. The EIC:
Coordinates activities resulting in the publication of La Voz in print and online.
Represents La Voz both on and off campus.
Ensures adequate coverage of campus news.
Ensures that staff members maintain the La Voz Code of Ethics while performing their duties.
Ensures the newsroom is run in a professional manner.
Consults with fellow editors and the faculty adviser when in doubt about the facts or presentation of a story; is alert to the possibility of libel.
Ensures immediate correction of any published factual misstatement.
Is ultimately responsible for all La Voz content, including multimedia and online.
Oversees placement of stories in print and online, coordinates special assignments and ensures timely assignment of photos and stories.
Determines number of pages for each issue, based on number of advertisements, budget and news priority.
Presides over the editorial board or appoints the managing or a section editor as chair.
Understands the finances of La Voz and consults with the adviser on financial matters.
