pROJECT

The project "Ricordi d'infanzia e di scuola" was developed during the 2021/22 school year by the 4M class of the Technical Economic Institute for Tourism "Sebastiano Grandis" on the proposal of the Publisher Nino Aragno who published a full reprint of the homonymous text by Edmondo De Amicis and paid tribute to the students and teachers of 32 classes of the Higher Education Institutions of the city of Cuneo. The initiative, which has joined the daily newspaper La Stampa, aims to spread the pleasure and practice of reading among young people, understood as a moment of formation of ideas and opinions.

Project objectives
- Synergistic implementation of the literature meaning of geographical locations;
- Consolidation of text comprehension and written and oral presentation skills, including in foreign languages;
- enhancing the skills of students in the tourist sector;
- Improvement of the school climate through the use of methods of active cooperation and design;
- Highlighting the cultural component of the tourist vocation of the class involved

course of the project
The project, aimed at the study of the precious notes of Cuneo life of Edmondo De Amicis child and adolescent, involved the following subjects: Italian Language and Literature, Tourist Geography, English, French and German Languages, Art and Territory.
In December and January, under the guidance of Professor of Italian Literature, Prof.ssa Jessica Boretto, the class devoted itself to the critical reading of the text, analyzing it in depth and comparing life, places, modalities of today’s students with the experiences of the young De Amicis, discovering many similarities in aspirations and ways of doing. The work then resulted in an individual elaboration of analysis and production of an argumentative text.
The next phase was developed within the framework of Tourist Geography with Prof.ssa Emanuela Borsano. After the theoretical analysis of the concepts of space, territory, place and sense of place, an itinerary linked to the transformation/metamorphosis of the most significant places mentioned by De Amicis in his book. An educational outing on a beautiful morning in April allowed to verify the feasibility and significance of the proposal, to take the necessary photographs and make the shots for the realization of a video.
