The competent teacher has in-depth understanding of content area knowledge that includes central concepts, methods of inquiry, structures of the disciplines, and content area literacy. The teacher creates meaningful learning experiences for each student based upon interactions among content area and pedagogical knowledge, and evidence-based practice.
For this assignment I created an ABC Analysis which is A-B-C analysis is a descriptive assessment that is conducted as an initial part of a complete functional behavior assessment. ... A-B-C analysis views behavior (B) as a function of the antecedents (A) that precede it and the consequences (C) that follow it.
For this artifact it connects to the standard 2.1 which states, "The teacher understands major concepts, assumptions, debates, principles, and theories that are central to the discipline". This connects becuase it talks about students behavior and their discipline that we observe.
This is important because we can track the students behavior and work with it so they are able to complete thier work. Without having this report, we won't be able to track our students behavior and try to find different ways that we can assist them.
This is a lesson plan that I created for my EDUC 319 course. The lesson plan is based on a 1st grade ELA class. I had to create 3 different activities that would help the students with their vocabulary skills, reading skills, and writing skills.
For this artifact it connect to standard 2 which states, "The teacher evaluates teaching resources and curriculum materials for their comprehensiveness, accuracy, and usefulness for representing particular ideas and concepts". This relates because we are trying to see what our students can comprehend and understand from doing this vocabulary spelling bee and worksheet. The spelling bee will help with the accuracy of each student becuase we can see if they know how to spell the word based off of the definition and using the word in a sentence.
This is important becuase we want to make sure our students can understand their vocabulary words. With vocab it is normally around 20 words long and that is hard for students to remember by just reading the book, having activities such as a spelling bee where all students can participate is helpful becuase we can work with the student to help them achieve their goal.
