The Second War
The Second War
The second war of ages past was just as brutal, if not more so than the first war. After the first war, the world was left in ruins. The dragons who survived the fall of Arcadia formed a new kingdom called Magia Zophia who worshiped the Aeon Mekala instead of Nargi and the seraphim, as the dragons felt the seraphim abandoned them during the first war. In order for Adonis to not return to his divine body and resurrect himself, his evil spirit was sealed within a tome known as the Gramis Grimoire which was then placed within Ryu’s tomb in order for Ryu’s seraphic energy to stop Adonis’ spirit from escaping from the tome. However, when Ryu would reincarnate for the first time, the tomb then became accessible for thieves to raid to discover the treasures inside.
One of the thieves, a young sorcerer named Fath, took the book and was possessed by the spirit of Adonis. Immediately, he quickly killed his friends and stole all of their taken wealth. He then became more and more powerful thanks to the book and formed the Gortoto Empire, a brutal kingdom that honored the strong above all else and planned to take over the whole world. Gortoro declared war on Magia Zophia, and thus the Second War began. While the war was going on, a mother living in a small fishing town called Novis gave birth to 7 daughters at once. She died from the daughter's birth, and thus the girls were brought to the Priory of Nargi in order to be raised as clerics.
Many years later, the Gotoro Empire attacked Novis Isle, where the girls lived, but the village was saved by the legendary General Dargo who the village praised as a hero. When the general saw the girls, he noticed that all 7 of them possessed the Firebrand, an ancient symbol marking someone as the one chosen by the Seraphim to liberate the world from darkness. Dargo decided to recruit the girls in order to accompany him to Mt. Dragalia to receive Saint Tika’s blessing so he could defeat Fath and save the world. The girls and the priory accepted but the ship they were on got into a bad storm and they were separated, leaving only the eldest sister Rose and Dargo shipwrecked on a mysterious beach with the location of the other girls unknown.
Upon awakening, Dargo and Rose discovered that they had landed on a beach deep within Gotoro, and they planned to head straight back to Magia Zophia to find the other girls and eventually make their way to Mt. Dragalia. On the way, they discover that 10 whole years had passed and a lot of the girls were living new lives in both Magia Zophia and Gotoro. Even stranger, both Rose and Dargo have not aged even a single day! Along with that revelation, Dargo’s faith in the clergy is tested when he sees the brutal treatment that the locals go through in areas conquered by the clergy, seeming even worse off than what the people were suffering under Fath. The girls they encountered had also matured quite a bit as well since Rose last saw them, all grown up but in the process lost their innocence. Despite this, all the girls decide to follow Dargo as everyone believes it is his destiny to defeat Fath and save the world.
Finally, they arrive at Mt. Dragalia at the Mekala Temple to meet with Archbishop Tika. However, when they meet Tika, she is nothing like how she is described or depicted by the Clergy, who appeared in reality as an extremely overweight ugly woman instead of a beautiful maiden as described. She then gets enraged, as her plan has been ruined thanks to Fath’s actions. The reason why Rose and Dargo didn’t age was that Fath foresaw his destruction by Dargo and sent a storm to destroy them, but it failed. He then decided to simply place Rose and Dargo into suspended animation in order to delay and hopefully stop their plans. Fath wields a special tome known as Ihmhulu, an evil tome that creates a barrier of shadowy wind that blocks all attacks unless broken. The only way to break the barrier is to use a dragon fang on it, and since the Ars Solaris was lost after the first war, a new dragon fang had to be created. If someone pure of heart is sacrificed on the Altar of Mekala to power up the Vorpal Blade that Dargo wields, it will transform into a new dragon fang: The Divine Solaris. Tika planned many pure vessels with the 7 girls, but each one except for Rose lost their innocence, leaving only Rose remaining. Tika then kills the other 6 girls in front of Rose and Dargo and tells Dargo to strike down the final one, Rose herself. Disobeying his orders and his destiny, Dargo strikes down Tika instead, declaring his allegiance to the Gotoro Empire and hatred against the Clergy. Gotoro soldiers then enter the temple and take Rose away, and everything fades to black…
Many years later, Rose wakes up in a dark cell, most likely in Gortoro’s capital of Naughtmare. Years pass, and eventually Rose finds another prisoner, a girl, in the cell with her. The girl says she was from a town by the Gortoro-Zophia border but says Zophia is no more, as Fath has reached his goal. The clergy is no more and Fath now rules the continent as supreme emperor alongside his closest advisor, Rose’s former best friend Dargo. They are currently in a cell in Naughtmare, and Rose discovers that the girl is a child of one of her late sisters. Together they escape from the prison to find the descendants of the other girls in order to stop Fath once in for all.
In the past few years, Fath has become more brutal and bloodthirsty, imprisoning and killing all who oppose him. After gathering the 6 other descendants and many other allies, Rose brings the fight to Fath in Naughtmare and is able to subdue her former friend Dargo. Dargo then says that Fath still wields Imhullu, so he is unstoppable. Rose tries to convince Dargo that there is still hope in the world and that Fath has gone too far, but before she can finish, Fath steps in and makes a barrier between Rose and Dargo. Rose then fights against Fath, but he is unable to be hit due to Ihmhulu’s barrier. Dargo then has a change of heart and barges into the battle, telling Rose that there is another ritual they can perform. The opposite of the Ritual of the Holy Flame that Tika requested, the Ritual of the Dark Flame.
If one whose heart is filled with endless sorrow and hatred is sacrificed at the altar of darkness in Castle Naughtmare, it will transform a relic weapon into the Dark Solaris, the opposite of the Divine Solaris, only one of two weapons able to break Ihmhulu’s barrier. Rose regretfully performs the ritual, sacrificing Dargo’s life in the middle of a desperate attack, breaking through Ihmhulu’s barrier and stunning Fath. Rose and the other children are able to defeat Fath, but it is not over. The full power of the Gramis Grimoire awakens and a demon resembling Adonis bursts out of Fath’s corpse, claiming he is Adonis reborn who was using Fath’s body as a host. However, the rebirth process was only 75% complete, leaving Adonis below full power. Rose and her friends are able to strike down the revived Adonis and save the world, reforming the Gotoro Empire into the Kingdom of Nogarde. She also re-forms the clergy, purging it of all corruption and becoming its first Archbishop. This ends the second war, but a calamity that proves to be more powerful than anything seen before is about to arrive…
