Food Poisoning
Food poisoning is the sickness of eating or drinking foods that have been contaminated with bacteria and/or viruses. The result of this causes nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, cramping of the stomach, and muscle and headaches.
Let's first begin with how food poisoning occurs. The bacteria and viruses found in the contaminated food enters from your mouth to your intestines. The bacteria then causes irritation and the body tries to get rid of it through vomit and feces. In severve cases, food poisoning can cause dehydration, organ failure, and, in rare instances, death.
Food poisoning can happen to anyone of any age. From infants to elders it can effect anyone so be careful of what you eat.
Ways to prevent food poisoning
Practice handling food safely. Make sure you wash your hands before touching and preparing food, clean fruits and vegetables thoroughly.
Cook food throughly. The best way to make sure you cook food all the way through without it being too dry or burnt is to check with a food thermometer. The heat kills any unwanted microorganisms preventing sickness.
Store food properly. The better you keep the correct foods in the right places it slows down growth of bacteria if any.
