Fever

Fever is a common symptom that most people have experienced when there are sick. The hot burning feeling and sweat dripping from your face is not pleasant. A fever is the body's natural response to various infections. It is how you know your immune system is fighting the bacteria or virus.

The symptoms of a fever are a high body temperature, headaches, weariness, chills, and excessive sweating. Some medication used to lower high temperatures are Tylenol and Advil.

Ways to treat your fever:

Drink water or any other liquids. Water is going to help cool down your body and release what is causing your fever. Liquids other than water also work well; teas, clear broths, and coffee(doesn't work as well as water)

Rest. On the weekdays you might want to sleep all day, however when you are sick, sleeping is a very difficult task. Sleeping allows your body to heal and recover. Most importantly, you should avoid strenuous activiteis as it may cause an increase in temperature.

Of course, use fever-reducing medications like Tynelo and Advil to lower your temperature and cause comfort.

If your fever is still not cooling down, you should use a cool compress such as a cooling bath, ice pack, or use fans to reduce body temperature.

When you should seek medical help

Fevers are normally cured at home, however some situation needs medical help.

If you have a continuous high fever such as anything above 102 degrees Fahrenheit, you should consult a doctor.

Difficulty breathing or having seizures, these are all moments when you ask for medical help.
