Importance: Teachers have the ability to be able to plan, design and instruct lessons based on knowledge, diversity, performance, goals and objectives. Teachers are always thingking of ways to continue student growth and achievement thourhgout the unit and school year.
Description: Report card example entry and differentiation assignment. This is regarding a student in adapted physical education. The differentiation assignment also discusses how students progress and change between third and fifth grades.
Connection: This artifact aligns with the performance indicator 3J "uses data to plan for differentiated instruction to allow for variations in individual learning needs." As teachers we need to ensure we are teaching standards that are appropriate for our learners and their developmental abilities. We have specific goals in all IEPs that we must achieve. Having a form or outline for teachers to check off and understand the performance data helps with student growth and achievement.
Importance: A good teacher understands the differences in development from third to fifth grade and how to differentiate lessons and tasks expected to complete based on abilities and skills. Being able to fully understand each student you work with and understanding wehre they are in their goals and skills helps with student growth and achievement.
