Size of the Problem is a tool we use for students who struggle with changes and rigidity with preferred items. Letting students know it is a small problems helps them to better cope with feelings and problem solving.
Schedules like this one help students see how many tasks need to be completed before getting a prefered item or choice. There are tabs to block the completed task when finished. This helps students see how close the preferred item or activity is.
I created a Mike Wazowski character out of a theraball and printed out his face. This was utilized for our halloween games week. This ball was used for our students in wheelchairs to play Monster Ball Soccer.
Upon walking into the gym, K - 3rd graders will complete color matching to prepare for the routine of walking around the gym while waiting for the second class to arrive. Having the solid wooden paint mixing stick helped those who could not hold onto a smaller chart. This is also more durable and lasts longer.
I created a basketball hoop that could be raised or lowered by taking the net of a broken Little Tykes hoop and attaching it to a thick ring. A jump rope assists in attaching it to a regular basketball hoop and adjust it's height.
This is an handmade adaptive device for students in wheelchairs to engage in sports. This device wraps around the front of the whelchair, the pool noodle keeps a ball better controled by the student in a chair. Students are able to better participate in soccer, kickball, and other sport activities due to this device.
