Connection: This artifact aligns with the performance indicator 2P "adjusts practice to meet the needs of each student in the content areas." The hierarchy tool is used to support and shape student behavior. Depending on where students are in their progression, staff should always work from most intrusive to least intrusive. The goal is to be as independent as possible.
Importance: The importance of this tool is to teach students new concepts without becoming frustrated during the process. While using this tool, it's crucial to remember to fade the prompts appropriately so that the student becomes independent.

Physical Education is a part of the entire academic team for the students. Teaching works best when you can include various previously learned skills and apply them in a variety of settings. While incoorporating reading, math, science, or history into physical education, you can teach students more efficiently accross all academic settings.
