This articles presents several links and citations to the FBI guideline.
This article highlights how the FBI has begun warning users of Kali365 scam. The sophistication in which this scam has presented itself allows each and every person to recognize the severity of these cyber-attacks. This incident involves a phishing scam disguised as a service, which targets Microsoft 365 users into entering a device-code that grants attackers to bypassmultifactor authentication. Once bypassing the authentication part, this issue allows cybercriminals to gain access to users’ applications such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive etc. without even having to use a password. Believe it or not, this issue affects all society, especially those who own small businesses, students, and everyday users who continue to rely on Microsoft 365 for every day use. This article also emphasizes multiple strategies to ensure the safety while online. By not entering a device code that was not authorize, keeping your MFA (Multifactor Authentication) on, using a data removal service, and checking your account activity periodically are just some of many ways that will become beneficial for all. By practicing those routines, enhances individuals to reduce their vulnerability for a cybersecurity attack.
Lesson Learned
The lesson that has been learned in this section of the ePortfolio is the vulnerability within the online world. What is crazy to me is the lengths that cybercriminals would go to destroy someone’s identity is extremely frightening. Honestly, these two articles have truly saved my life. By recognizing the warning signs and taking those proactive steps helps to ensure that my sensitive information, devices, and all accounts are secured, which makes me feel more prepared.
