Standard 1: Standards-Aligned & Integrated Curriculum

This unit plan is aligned with AFNR standards, which are both industry-validated and career-relevant. It includes five distinct lessons, each designed to be completed within one to two class periods. Every lesson features both formative and summative assessments to support student learning and measure progress. The unit emphasizes the application of integrated knowledge and skills in real-world agricultural contexts. For example, students engage in authentic hands-on activities such as practicing artificial insemination in cattle, reinforcing both technical competencies and conceptual understanding. 

This program handbook outlines the available courses and their descriptions, each intentionally aligned with the industry-validated AFNR standards. Each course incorporates a series of lessons designed to meet technical standards while providing students with meaningful opportunities to apply their knowledge in real-world agricultural scenarios. The handbook will be made publicly accessible and updated regularly to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with current standards and industry needs.
