Whether you're looking to compete, stay active, or cheer on your fellow students, King's Athletics has something for everyone.
The UKC Blue Devils compete in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Our varsity teams include men's and women's soccer, women's rugby, men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, and badminton. We also have a men’s rugby team that competes in the Rugby Nova Scotia University League.
Supporting the Blue Devils is a great way to connect with the King's community. Home games are free for students and provide an exciting opportunity to show your school spirit. Game schedules, team news, and event information are posted throughout the year on our website and social media.
If varsity competition isn't for you, there are still plenty of ways to stay active. Your athletics fee gives you access to the Kingdome, which includes a gymnasium, fitness centre, weight room, and dance studio. Students also receive access to Dalhousie University's facilities (Dalplex), fitness programs, and intramural sports.
King's Athletics is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment where all students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to participate. The department consists of Matt Bartley (Athletics Director), Trish Miles (Athletics Manager), Chelsea MacIsaac (Athletics Administrator) and Maya Bartley (Athletics Therapy Dog ).
Interested in becoming a Blue Devil? Many varsity teams begin pre-season training and hold tryouts before or during Orientation Week. If you'd like to tryout for a team, you can complete the recruitment form found on each varsity page on the King's Athletics website.
