In EDIT 760 I learned what online learning is, what it's like for teachers, what online teachers can expect, the portrait of an online student, and how online learning is changing and growing but also how there is still much work to be done to make it completely successful. I think this was important so I could go into this field with my eyes wide open. Having experience as an online teacher, I find that I have had a relatively typical experience which makes me comfortable continuing my education. As I continue implementing online units that I have created and teaching virtual high school, I hope to continue my office hours and live lessons to decrease transactional distance. I want to be more motivating by creating incentives for my students. I will maintain parent contact as their support is so important to the student's success. This I didn't realize before the course! Finally, I will make sure my feedback is timely to build relationships with students so I can see what they're learning and what may be making them disengaged when problems arise.
