Kibtisk is best defined as "a life philosophy expressed via a conlang and practised as a spirituality."
So really it's three things: a life philosophy, a conlang, and a spirituality.
Let's break those down.
The Kibtisk life philosophy is known as the Kibtisk Way. It is based on three principles (yürna, vywe, and baden) and four core concepts (ardt, vitre, ihre, and vira). These can all be viewed on the Notions page.
The philosophy is simply that we are each individually journeying through life (known as yürna), and on that journey our internal selves are affected by and affect our external environments (known as the process of baden). To ensure that our internal selves and our external environments benefit one another, the Kibtisk Way is practised as a spirituality. The Principles and Notions (as well as Virtues) of the Kibtisk Way are then expressed in the Kibtisk conlang.
The Kibtisk conlang serves two purposes. The first and primary purpose is, as mentioned above, to express the Kibtisk philosophy. The second purpose is that of a functional, conversational language which can be learned on our other site: Learn Kibtisk.
"What is a conlang?"
A conlang is a constructed language. Simply put, it is a language created for a purpose whether that be as a fictional language, as a means of international communication, or as a way to express a philosophy.
The reason we use a conlang is because the Principles, Notions, and Virtues of the Kibtisk Way are either inexpressible in English, or when expressed in English have a connotation which is not intended by the Kibtisk Way.
"Why not use another language rather than creating one?"
There may be words in other languages which express the same concepts as the Kibtisk Way's concepts, and in the same way. However, those words belong to other cultural and spiritual traditions, each with their own history and background. It would be disrespectful to appropriate those words and shoehorn them into the Kibtisk philosophy in order to express something which those words, and the traditions they come from, may not have intended to express. Therefore, we use the Kibtisk conlang.
This means that you will see Kibtisk words used to express the concepts of the Kibtisk Way, but we do have a Glossary so that you can find their definitions again and again. You can also learn more about the Kibtisk conlang.
The Kibtisk spirituality is the Kibtisk Way in action. It is the practices and intentional habits that followers of the Kibtisk Way do in order to ensure that our internal selves and external environments are beneficial for us and others. Each follower may do these practices differently, because we all walk a different path through different seasons.
So that's what Kibtisk is: a life philosophy, a conlang, and a spirituality.
The Kibtisk Hub then is where all of these things can be accessed. It is also where the Kibtisk online community can be accessed as well as the Hub's creators. Why not join the community or contact us?
