Quick Glossary

  • Ihre = Atmosphere/Vibe/Presence

  • Zonihre = Personal presence/Vibe

  • Römihre = Room's atmosphere/Vibe

  • Ardt = Mind/Soul/Heart/Inner-self

Definition:

The second of the Four Core Notions is ihre, and similar to all the Four Core Notions, it is not easily expressed in English.

However, it can be translated into English in many ways. The best definitions are 'presence' or 'atmosphere'. This is because ihre refers to two things: the presence of a person, and the atmosphere of a room. The Kibtisk language further specifies these two concepts by giving them each a name: zonihre (person-ihre) and römihre (room-ihre).

The concept of ihre itself though can be understood as 'presence' or 'atmosphere', as above, but also 'aura', 'vibe', 'environment', 'ambience', 'sense' etc.

For example, when people refer to the tension in the air, or the atmosphere at a restaurant or concert etc., they are referring to the ihre (more specifically the römihre). Or, when people get a 'sense' about a person or say that they give off a 'vibe', they are referring to the ihre (more specifically the zonihre).

Etymology:

As is the case with most Kibtisk Notions, the word ihre comes from one of the four elements. In this case the element of choice is 'air', since the atmosphere and presence are felt in the air.

Ihre therefore, comes from the Kibtisk word 'ehra' meaning 'air'.

Explanation:

The ihre is key to the Kibtisk Way primarily due to its association to the founding Principle of Baden. If we breathe the air, we baden the ihre.

The way this works is why the Kibtisk language specifies between zonihre and römihre. In short, the zonihre is the bridge between the ardt and the römihre; in other words, the vibe we give off is the bridge between our inner-selves and the outer world.

What this means is that the zonihre is significant to the baden process. It is the bridge in and out of our inner-selves. What is in the römihre is absorbed into the zonihre and thereby into our inner-selves. Similarly, what is within us is projected through the zonihre onto the outer environment of the römihre.

Therefore, the state of our zonihre is something we need to constantly be aware of. However, since the zonihre is largely the bridge, it is really the state of our ardt and the römihre that we need to keep an eye on.

We guard what we project by being aware of our inner-selves, through a process called ardzýn which is meditatively and thoughtfully considering and contemplating the state of our ardt, how we arrived to the place we are within ourselves, and where we are headed on our journey.

Similarly, we guard what we absorb by altering the römihre through a process called ihrekhunciünen (ihre-adjusting).

The ideal römihres and zonihres that the Kibtisk Way identifies are known as the Virtues. Of course the ultimate ideal for the römihre and zonihre is encapsulated in the fourth and final Core Notion: vira.
