Frame No from: KH125A-009901; engine No from: KH125AE009901; original colours Poppy Red and Metallic Evening Blue. (There is some evidence that a black version also made it to the UK). 6v electrical system. Front mechanical disc brake - cable operated. 6 speed gearbox.
The metallic blue paint was particularly fetching and Poppy Red likewise. Side panels remain coloured the same as the main paintwork.
It's interesting to note that the front image of the A2 brochure actually pictures a Prussian Blue A1 and not a Metallic Evening Blue A2! The same picture was used in magazine adverts for the A1.
The brochure for the A2 calls it "A stylish streeter with 6 speeds and a disc brake". The brochure goes further and talks about the mechanicals of the little beast, "... it has a close-ratio gearbox that helps you get the most out of the engine. You don't have to rev too hard because the power comes earlier than other small bikes. Maximum torque is at only 6,500rpm ... The cylinder head has fins which are designed to direct the air down behind the cylinder where the engine gets hottest. It's called Aerostream cooling and helps protect against excessive wear".
