I conducted 3 iterations on the Google Play Music app and mocked up a redesign for the team. The team eventually ended up implementing my suggestions and the lead stakeholder even said "Kevin, this app was basically designed by you." Cool beans.
Before: Top drawer is bad
BEFORE
The top drawer (aka pull-down menu) was not immediately discoverable. Furthermore, the pagination interaction yielded usability issues. For example, if a user wants to go back, they would need to swipe back to the drawer and select the menu item. The usual back behaviour (swipe left-to-right) exits the app.
*Note: Only a circular portion of the screen is visible at any time on a round smartwatch. This image shows an extended view.
