I worked as a UX Researcher (via Infotree Services Inc.) at Volkswagen Electronics Research Laboratory in Belmont, California.
Background: I worked on a novel Human-Machine Interface (HMI) concept which interfaces externally to pedestrians and other road users, rather than in towards the driver/passenger. This novel HMI is a one-of-a-kind interface (because most HMIs are focused inwards) built for self-driving vehicles in mind to address ambiguous situations where the driver is no longer visible to road users who need visual feedback.
I was working with a senior researcher to validate this concept from end-to-end. We used the design process to understand the problem, test, and iterate on the concept.
