I created BORED in May 2025 as the final piece in my year-long exploration of boredom as a spark for creativity and originality. Originally intented to be Boredom Painting 5, this mixed-media work went through multiple extensive stages of expirmentation and incorporates personal memorabilia alongside clippings from other pieces in the collection. BORED is a satirical self-portrait of the entire study. It holds up a mirror to the process—highlighting the best moments, the worst moments, and everything in between. It also playfully acknowledges itself as an artwork; the title even appears within the piece, which I find a little funny.
