During my time at ICC, I have taught and helped to develop 8-week training courses for the staff and faculty. I have facilitated many cohorts of the courses below. I was also an integral part of the design stages for Excellence in Teaching and Learning+, Trauma Informed Pedagogies, and Open Educational Practices. Through the use of Backward Design, the team and I created these courses to assist our faculty and staff in the titular topic for each.
Cougar Quality (CQ) is an online 8-week program dedicated to ensuring quality course designs to promote collaboration and active learning in online environments.
Open Educational Practices leverage the use of open materials to empower learners. The online course covers basic OER principles and provides learners with an opportunity to explore OER content and design an open assignment for their course.
Excellence in Teaching and Learning is an online, 8-week, specialized course designed to empower faculty, staff, and administrators to create inclusive and welcoming learning environments.
This 8-week asynchronous course equips faculty and staff in higher education institutions with the knowledge and skills needed to create trauma-informed learning environments
I worked as part of a 5-member team to design, create, and facilitate "The Art of Course (Re)Design." This course is a 7-module asynchronous online anytime course for course design. It teaches participants how to design their courses utilizing Backward Design (BD), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Open Educational Resources (OER), Regular and Substantive Interactions (RSI), and Accessibility principles.
