Artifact: Online Community Scan — Innovating Early Childhood Education

Rationale: This community scan analyzed the landscape of online communities focused on early childhood education innovation, examining how digital spaces facilitate knowledge-sharing, professional development, and advocacy among educators and specialists. I selected this artifact because building and sustaining online communities is a competency central to contemporary educational leadership, and because the early childhood focus connects directly to my professional expertise. This scan also informed the design of my own professional online presence, including the WonDIRful community hub referenced in my Professional Growth Plan. It demonstrates my ability to conduct systematic environmental analysis of digital spaces, a skill applicable to any leadership role involving community engagement and technology.

Artifact: Online Community Analysis — Educational Online Community Center for Autism 

Rationale: This analysis examined an existing online community designed to support families and professionals working with children on the autism spectrum, evaluating its design, engagement mechanisms, and educational effectiveness. I selected this artifact because autism support communities are directly relevant to my professional context. I work with children with diverse neurodevelopmental profiles and their families on a daily basis. Analyzing this community through a scholarly lens deepened my understanding of how to design inclusive, accessible, and supportive digital spaces for vulnerable populations. This work reflects my commitment to applying research to practice in the service of children and families with the greatest needs.

Artifact: Design of an Online Community 

Rationale: This capstone artifact for EDTC 816 presents an original design for an online community tailored to educators, therapists, and families working with bilingual neurodiverse children. I selected this as a signature artifact because it synthesizes knowledge from across multiple courses and reflects the intersection of my professional identity and doctoral learning. The design incorporates principles of community building, adult learning theory, and inclusive digital design, demonstrating competency across all three program domains. This community design is also a prototype for the professional platform I intend to build as part of my long-term goal of creating a consulting and training organization that bridges neuroscience, bilingual education, and educational technology.
