Hello, I'm Kameryn R and welcome to my Girl Scout Gold Award project website.  My Gold Award project aims to equip youth with tools and techniques that can enhance their mental wellness through physical exercise, healthy eating and effective coping mechanisms. According to statistics, one in ten teenagers struggle with at least one of three common types of mental illnesses: 1) Generalized Anxiety, 2) Social Phobias, and 3) Depression. The prevalence of teen mental health issues has reached an unprecedented level. Prior to the pandemic, from 2009 to 2019, there was a staggering 40% increase in such problems. During this period, teenagers frequently encountered overwhelming feelings of sadness and hopelessness. The emergence of the pandemic further intensified emotions of depression, loneliness and sadness. This site offers a wealth of tips, techniques and tools designed to enhance mental wellness. It features mental health exercises, physical workout routines and ideas for maintaining a healthy diet in hopes of achieving a balanced state of wellness.
