My grading policy is like a three-layer cake.
The bottom layer is made of C Projects (C grade = 70%)
The B Projects and A Projects are the upper two layers (worth the other 30% of the grade).
In order to stack your upper layers on your cake, you must first have the bottom layer in place. In the same way, in order to get an A or a B, you must demonstrate achievement of a C grade by showing proficiency in the C Projects first.
When students turn in their B and/or A Projects, then the grade book will show those grades, but until then, the grade will be a C. (The syllabus has more details.)
LATE WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED unless you were EXCUSED or you received an extension for an assignment. “Late work” is any assignment turned in after the due date. Without an extension, late work will receive a zero. To get an extension, speak to/email Doran THREE SCHOOL DAYS BEFORE THE ASSIGNMENT IS DUE.
o For Quarter 4, ALL work is due by Friday, May 23, 2026.
There is NO EXTRA CREDIT unless the teacher feels that all classes need extra assistance.
If you have any questions or concerns about an assignment, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to speak to the teacher before the assignment is due.
If you are absent from class, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to speak to the teacher when you return about work you may have missed.
