Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa Yoga is when the breath is synchronized with continual movements (flow) between postures. This yoga is more fast-paced and can be a good cardio workout. I obtained my 200 hour YTT certification in April 2019 and my 300 hour YTT certification in June 2020 with an emphasis on Vinyasa Yoga.
YinYasa Yoga
YinYasa Yoga is a hybrid of Yin and Vinyasa Yoga styles. Students will flow at a slower pace than typical Vinyasa class and move between postures that can be standing or seated. YinYasa is viewed as the best of both worlds as it creates a yoga session that allows movement and creativity, yet also allows students to hold postures to deeper stretch the muscles and fascia.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is the ultimate in rest and relaxation. Students are in Savasana for the entirety of the session as I lead you through a guided meditation. This meditation will allow you explore the fine line between sleep and consciousness. While participating in Yoga Nidra, students are open to deep emotional and physical healing, rewiring their brains, and self-exploration. Because there is no separation between reality and dream state during Yoga Nidra, students are able to rewire the thought process in their brains often turning patterns of negative self-talk into positive affirmations. Yoga Nidra is the ideal practice to allow your body to "rest and digest"-- to fully allow healing to occur in the parasympathetic state. I obtained my 30 hour Yoga Nidra certification in June 2019.
Restorative Yoga
In Restorative Yoga, participants hold poses for longer periods of time (typically anywhere from 5-20 minutes) while supported by bolsters, blocks, and blankets. Maximum comfort is the number one goal in this type o yoga! Movement is slow and stretches are very gentle. In Restorative Yoga, participants are allowed to "rest and digest"-- taking a break from the seemingly constant state of "fight or flight." I obtained my 18.5 immersive Restorative Yoga training in January 2020.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga focuses on seated or supine postures that are held for longer periods of time to allow the deep stretching of muscles and fascia. Poses are usually held for 3-5 minutes at a time. This type of yoga is slow-paced and allows a deeper sense of rest.
Children's Yoga & Creative Movement
Kidding Around Yoga came to Vale in October 2019 where I learned ways to teach yoga, mindfulness, and creative movement to school-aged children. Dancing, singing, breathing, stretching, and playing games are all a part of the fun!
