Dream Quest Poetry Contest - Winter 2014 - 2015
My name can be confirmed on the official Dream Quest Poetry Contest page, although the poem itself has now been removed. Below is the actual prize-winning poem:
Autumn Shadows
In the blustery haze of autumn,
Waves topped with manes of windblown spray
Tumble and slide,
Rumble and sigh;
Millions of bubbly fingers
Trilling on the smooth sand.
We stand side by side,
Our voices stolen by the wind.
You say something,
And I do not hear.
But your mirage shadows,
Like flickering puppets in the evening air,
Blend with the shadows of my mind.
You turn to me with a wispy smile,
And all the frayed pieces lock silently into place.
The Dream Quest Poetry Contest is one of the few international poetry contests around with people (often professional writers) submitting poems from all around the world, including the UK, the US, France, Canada, Argentina, India, Italy and Mexico.
I was awarded the 3rd prize on my second challenge.
I am greatly honored to receive this prize.
