OFRA GRINFEDER

Born in Israel - Presently Lives in Brazil.Graduated from State University of New York in Buffalo.Worked for the New York State Narcotic Comission in Harlem, New York, collaborating with an art therapist.Worked as a “Program Director” for the American army in Seul, Korea.Specialized in Clay for ten years in Brazil. Had several individual shows as well as group shows in museums and galleries.Lived for three years in France, working in Clay in St. Germain- en- Laye. Exhibited in Sarver Gallery and the Museum of Cannes.Returned to Brazil. Had individual exhibitions at Gallery Nara Roesler, and together with Jaques Buchholz at the Modern Art Museum (MAM).In 1992 moved to Istambul, Turkey,started research in wood and paper sculptures. This resulted in an exhibit at Galleria Nev, Istanbul.Back in New York had a sculpture exhibit at 450 Broadway Gallery and a jewelry exhibit at Aaron Faber Galery.In 1996 returned to Brazil where had several individual shows. In 2013 dedicated her time to research on the Jewish population in Bom Retiro. This work resulted in an exhibition in the Museum of Energy in São Paulo.At the moment, the artist lives and works in São Paulo and continues to dedicate her work to images relating to Brazil.
