Winter Field Day - CANCELLED due to WX
All Club Members and Friends: (Jan 22, 2026)
While the weather reports have bounced around over the past few days, it appears that they have reached a near certainty. The snow forecast amounts are still a guess, the start of whatever we get will be on Saturday evening through until Monday sometime. This would lead to a cancellation of Sunday outdoor activities.
The prediction of temperature for Saturday has remained constant at a high of 19 degrees. Since we have only a small enclosure in which we operate it would be a very difficult radio environment if there were 7 to 10 people or more jammed into the small confines. Noise is always a deterrent to good operating environment when using voice communication.
Therefore, we are cancelling all outside radio Club activity for this weekend. If you know of anyone who was planning on visiting our location, please let them know of this decision.
You are encouraged to work the bands from your home shack and keep track of your log for Club use. This decision was very difficult to make but we do not want to encourage any member to risk their health given the stormy weekend. Stay warm and if you need any assistance with operation or snow issues, please do not hesitate to drop a line.
