Our 2025 PICNIC was hot, but fun and informative. We had the 'Fox Hunt' with some custom antennas, and several members participated in the SKEETER Hunt. We all enjoyed each others company & great food that was shared.
This year (2025) we had a combination BCRC PICNIC, Skeeter Hunt and Fox Hunt at Pennington Park from 1-5pm! Directions posted below.
Please note we cancelled the Mon Aug 18 meeting this month!
BCRC PICNIC - this event was held 'rain or shine' at Pennington Park under shelter. Details will include 'bring a dish to share', the club will provide hot-dogs and hamburgers. Come join us for camadre & the families are of course invited too! During the event we will be participating in the 'SKEETER HUNT' (details below) and 'FOX HUNT' activities! Stay tuned to our 'groups.io' forums for details on this event!
SKEETER HUNT - this event was held 'rain or shine' at Pennington Park in conjunction with the BCRC PICNIC. The information page for the SKEETER HUNT is HERE. This is a QRP event (5 watts or less) and will test the skills of the operator.
FOX HUNT - help find a hidden transmitter using your skills to seek out its location. Great activity for family and friends. Details will be described at the meetings and at the Picnic. No prior experience is necessary!
