We are all about communication, as that is the bedrock of amateur radio. Our public service mission requires us to communicate to serve the public. In the internet age, there are even more ways than 'on the air' to get in touch, answer questions, help promote the hobby, and solve problems. This page lists several and how to get engaged in activities.
Every Sunday at 7pm we run a weekly net to just say hello and catch up. Any licensed amateur is invited. Also many of us monitor that frequency during the week.
Access is easy with an HT and that is all the radio you need. Those new technician licensees with a small hand held radio can easily join the net. Check-in is easy; when you hear net control call for check-ins just say your call and name. This is an excellent way to start cultivating your Emergency Communications (EmComm) skills, too!
We have two active forums for members to use and are based on the Groups.IO system. Members only are subscribed to one forum, but anyone can join BCRC-InfoXchange - check it out!
We host the annual New Jersey QSO contest in the fall, as well as participate in Winter Field Day and the ARRL Field Day each year. Look on this website for details.
A nice summary of our club is listed on QRZ. Check it out at: https://www.qrz.com/db/K2TD
