Here's a link to my new, updated website
I will soon be attending a College or University to pursue a mechanical engineering degree. I was introduced to the world of engineering through my dad, an electrical engineer, who noticed that I enjoyed math and science and recommended that I take I know that I like solving problems through mechanical design from the two year Engineering course I attended in my second and third year of high school, and my internship with Pax Aero Solutions during my senior year of high school.
In my sophomore and junior year of high school, I attended an Engineering course at the James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center, which introduced me to several different kinds of engineering. In that class, I learned how to keep a data book, make a website for myself, and I got an associate's level certification in mechanical design in SolidWORKS, a 3D modeling program. As a senior, I am taking AP calculus BC, AP Physics C, and AP Literature and Composition. These are all classes that correlate with college credits, giving me a head start over most of my peers.
Throughout high school, I participated in different kinds of extracurricular activities like different bands, sailing, and volunteering opportunities. I was elected Team captain of the sailing team the spring of my junior year, and have been involved in after school band activities since the fourth grade. In order to get involved in my community, I am currently a part of National Honors society, the National Technical Honors Society, an Student2Student leader.
Upon graduation, I plan to attend a four year college or university because I do not believe that our local community college has all of the educational and social opportunities I am looking for after high school. I might study abroad for a little while or do a co-opIn college, I plan to sail, get involved in local volunteering opportunities, and play the flute in a band class.
Once I am an engineer, I want to change the world in what little ways I can, and solve problems to help people live their daily lives. My goal is not to be famous, or anyone important to society, but I will do what I can to fix little things in my community. I do not know if I will make any positive difference in the world, but I will do what I can to make it a better place.
