Tall Bandsaw Feather Board

Based on the original design of John Lanciani, I built this tall feather board with rollers and tall fence for my Grizzly G0636X bandsaw. The attached SketchUp model can be downloaded for free. Click on the little downward pointing arrow near the right hand margin. Keep in mind that this unit fits my saw, and may need to be modified to fit yours. Here is a photo of the unit.

I bought these roller wheels: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MR6GUBJ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (Well, I see the rollers I used are no longer available, but any roller no wider than 3/4" and about 1" in diameter that can be screwed to the pivot arms should work OK.)

I used 6" long sections of 5/16" threaded rod to hold the springs and pivot arms. I bought the springs from McMaster Carr; P/N 9657K122. I also bought the washers, nuts, and T-Nuts from McMaster Carr.

The washers I bought tended to grab on the threaded rod, so I filled the threads of the rods with Bondo where the rod exists the hole in the pivot arm, for about 1/2" each way. This wouldn't be an issue at all if you use 5/16" bolts instead of the threaded rod, but you may have to adapt the location of the T-Nut mounting plate. I didn't use them simply because of cost.
