Teaching is one of the most complex forms of leadership I know. It requires intellectual rigor, emotional intelligence, rapid decision-making, long-term planning, conflict navigation, communication across audiences, and the ability to build trust with people who are still developing. It also requires flexibility under pressure: the ability to adjust plans in real time when human needs, group dynamics, or unexpected obstacles change the conditions of the work.
My classroom experience has shaped how I lead. It has taught me to design with real humans in mind, not idealized ones. It has taught me that people grow when they feel safe, connected, challenged, and supported. It has taught me to notice when systems are not working for the people they are meant to serve. And it has given me a grounded understanding of how policies, programs, resources, and organizational decisions are experienced by the people closest to the work.
My teaching portfolio is a duplicated copy of my 4th grade family website from the 2025–2026 school year. I chose to preserve it largely as it appeared for families so that prospective employers could see an authentic snapshot of my professional work in action: how I communicate across audiences, organize complex information, design resources, manage projects, and support growth in a real-world setting.
Although the site was originally created for a classroom audience, the work represented here reflects strengths that extend well beyond teaching, including communicating clearly, designing thoughtful learning experiences, organizing complex information, managing projects from idea to implementation, adapting to a diverse set of needs, and building systems that help all people succeed. Across the pages, you will find examples of learning resources, family updates, student support systems, math and literacy tools, SEL materials, and explanations of the thinking behind the work.
