I’m Julia Quintero, a Chicago-based educator who has spent her career obsessed with the question: What does it take to become not just a good teacher, but a truly great one?
Along with teaching for seven years across three schools and four grade levels, I have also led schoolwide assessment and program systems; designed curriculum and learning experiences; communicated with families across complex moments; and supported children, colleagues, and communities through both intellectual and relational work. I currently teach 4th grade at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, where an extroardinary level of teacher autonomy has allowed me to develop full learning arcs from the ground up to create an elementary humanities curriculum that I am particularly produ of.
This portfolio offers a window into how I think, build, communicate, and lead. While much of my professional experience has taken place in schools, the strengths reflected here extend beyond the classroom: translating complex ideas into clear systems, designing meaningful learning experiences, supporting people through growth and change, building trust across stakeholders, and creating structures that help humans do their best work.
As I explore the next chapter of my career, I am especially interested in mission-driven roles that allow me to contribute to learning, leadership, organizational growth, human development, and social impact. My hope is that this site gives you a fuller sense of the kind of professional I am: thoughtful, growth-oriented, relational, analytical, and deeply committed to work that helps people and systems become more humane, effective, and alive.
