This page includes a few selected media features that highlight different parts of my professional path: my early leadership in building community and pre-professional support for Stanford students interested in education, my continued commitment to helping young people think deeply about identity and belonging, and my interest in broader questions about the future of the teaching profession.
Together, these pieces reflect through-lines in my work that have remained consistent over time: creating spaces for meaningful conversation, bringing people together around questions that matter, advocating for the value of teaching, and designing learning experiences that help students and adults think more expansively about themselves, their communities, and the world around them.
In 2013, I organized and moderated a panel to discuss: How can we attract top students into careers in education -- especially teaching?
Panelists:
John Hennessy, President of Stanford University
Claude Steele, Dean of the Stanford Graduate School of Education
Michael Kirst, President of the California State Board of Education
Rachel Lotan, Director of the Stanford Teacher Education Program
