Otford - Horam
We (dad and I) left early from my cousins' home in Otford, Sevenoaks, as to avoid most of the heat. Our bikes were packed carefully so that the ride would be as light and comfortable as possible. (They were still quite heavy!)

After 22 miles
At about 14:15, we began to run out of water. The steep hills made cycling difficult and we had to push our bikes up some of them. 1 hour later, we arrived at a shop in Heathfield and I bought the first water I saw. It turned out it was sparkling water but it was nice anyway. We also bought some things for dinner.
Joining the flat Cuckoo Trail
Arriving in Horam!

The Cuckoo Trail is a disused railway and is very flat and easy to cycle on. You can picture the image above once being a train station
Buying some more things for dinner
From Horam it was a short ride to our first campsite. We soon arrived and set up our tent, had a shower and cooked dinner.
We also saw the solar eclipse, and I took some photos.
We were kindly given eclipse glasses by other campers, so we could see the sun.
