Inclusivity, accessibility, and climate policy

Inclusivity policy

The Joint Conference on Language Evolution is committed to improving equity and inclusion in our research communities. The conference aims to promote conversation and action around these issues to help make the conference productive and welcoming for everyone. To facilitate this, the conference includes a poster session on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion which is open to all.

Accessibility policy

The Joint Conference on Language Evolution is committed to offering an accessible environment for all.

Sign language interpreting: We will offer sign language interpreting in American Sign Language (ASL) or International Sign (IS) for the scientific program of our conference and guarantee 1) the sign language interpreting of all keynote and invited talks, 2) the interpreting of the presentations given in ASL or IS into spoken English, and 3) the sign language interpreting of one parallel session.

Climate policy

We accept the main findings of current climate science and their urgent implications for academic conference culture. Thus, we host the Joint Conference on Language Evolution as a hybrid event and offer online participation possibility to reduce carbon-footprint. To achieve an equally good conference eyperience for online participants, we host a number of online only events. Our hybrid setting also promotes the accessibility and cultural diversity of our events.
