Cloud 9 Rules and Cloud 9 Law exist to help us maintain civility, safety, and enjoy our time together through our communications and interactions. They ensure that we stay on topic and they provide direction during group activities. They apply to all of our groups, rules in all contexts and the law as an extension and within the contexts of legal systems in Star Citizen and various online games.
External rules also apply, including those from CIG/RSI, various online games, and the chat service, such as safety center and community guidelines.
Essentials are covered on this page. Topics are addressed in detail on the pages linked below.
1. Be nice and fun.
2. Keep it clean.
3. Stay on topic.
4. No redirects.
5. Be fluent in English.
The Law in the ‘Verse:
All orgs in the Cloud 9 organizations network—Cloud 9, Horizon Health, Vortex Security, Solaris Resources, Quantum Commerce & Logistics, and Olympus Entertainment—abide by the law, our own first, then similar laws of other governing bodies.
All orgs in the Nebula 9 organizations network abide by a variation of our law. That's it. No other laws. Deliberately stringent prerequisites are in place for membership, one of which is having a different account or character for N9 than the one in C9.
Cloud Nexus and Ennead Union each hold a position of general neutrality with regard to the law, as they involve law-abiding and outlaw groups.
Groups in Cloud 9 Games abide by the law.
Cloud 9 Government is the primary source for legal information within these contexts. Cloud 9 Citizens play an important part in defining the law within each relevant and applicable tier of government.
One session in the 'verse could easily have a minimum duration of a few hours. A number of people add to that by having multiple sessions per week. Collectively, we have spent thousands of hours in Star Citizen, and many of us have also contributed thousands of dollars and comparable currencies internationally to the CIG projects. These rules are in place to help ensure participants align with a common purpose.
These rules also pertain to group communications and interactions. Individuals are liable for their own decisions, words, and actions; they may communicate and interact any way that they wish together, including in ways that fail to align with these rules, although when bending or breaking the rules, those communications and interactions must occur separate from spaces designated for group communications and activities. Likewise, everyone is encouraged to align with these rules while communicating and interacting in these group spaces.
