Founded as a Star Citizen organization in 2016, before the larger community of backers expanded to its current size, Cloud 9 made its mark as an international group of friendly and fun fans of the genre. Whether as explorers, cargo haulers, combatants, or operatives in the various professions that have been gradually introduced to the 'verse through the years, our members are—and have historically been—great people who have made and continue to make group activities an enjoyable experience for all involved.

Even when some denizens of the 'verse thought that its conditions were in such disarray that the idea of effective, organized group activities seemed too distant to grasp—just a dream—others saw it in a different light.
We also saw it as a dream, but one to be realized—an opportunity—and we started to prepare for it. As we approach Star Citizen 1.0, so too do we approach the day that our momentum will pick up, and our future growth will put Cloud 9 on the map of the universe.

Inspired by the mythical creature and relatable for the parallels it shares with us, our first crew holds a special place for making that mythology a reality in the 'verse.
Phoenix, the first crew that our citizens join as part of the onboarding process, provides new crewmates with an introduction to how we run operations. When it comes to crews, your Cloud 9 journey begins with Phoenix.

Running with the Runners
After completing basic training with Phoenix, you are transferred to the Runners, where the training wheels come off. As a Runner, this is your time to shine and showcase your skills in lead roles like captain and in various crew positions.
While the established crewmates in Phoenix run operations and you shadow and observe, the established crewmates in the Runners are there to observe you and only step in as needed to ensure progress. These crews prepare you for the fleet.
Experience
Euphoria
Euphoria
You rose from the ashes with Phoenix and ran with the Runners. By this point, you have completed most of your onboarding steps. Next, you transfer to the fleet, where you experience Euphoria in Cloud 9.
Euphoria, your third crew, is your official induction into the Cloud 9 First Fleet. As the initial exploration crew and lead crew of the organization and the network, Euphoria focuses on areas such as academia, expeditions, and expansions.
During your time with the crew, you may venture out to new regions of space, learn about new star systems, and relay information back to the fleet.
You may participate in sensitive missions unique to Cloud 9 involving Deep Space Critical Operations.
After you have spent some time on the Euphoria crew, you will have opportunities to transfer to or additionally join the lead crews in our other organizations and adjust to how they operate. After that, you can remain in any one or more of those crews, or you could even form the next crew in the fleet.
