Professional Vision for a Leadership Framework: Serving and Leading as an Innovative Administrator.
Over the course of the program, several leadership and motivational theories have been researched, analyzed, and assessed for application in particular situations and according to the individual styles and abilities. Because an administrator is a leader of teaching and learning in any respective setting, as well as an advocate for the learners, organization, and its community, this framework includes both a philosophy for teaching/learning and one for leadership as it affects all constituents.
Philosophy of Teaching and Learning: This article is my philosophy of teaching which explains my personal and ethical beliefs of teaching as well as plans to meet the needs of all learners. This artifact meets the competency because it proves the various ways to engage students in classroom learning and shows what to look for when supervising classrooms and teachers. This artifact connects with leadership as it shows what the expectations are for a classroom teacher and what to expect when observing a teacher. This artifact will benefit my future practice of an administrator as it keeps many important points at the front of my mind in regards to making sure all learners needs are being met.
Philosophy of Leadership: This artifact shows my philosophy of leadership which also explains how to use transformational leadership in various ways. This artifact meets the competency because it speaks on various ways to utilize transformational leadership such as leading through change, using collaboration as a tool, and how to handle conflict as a leader. This artifact also speaks on the challenges of leadership. Overall, this artifact focuses on various ways to lead through changes, challenges, and transitions as a transformational leader in order to get the best results.
This artifact will benefit my future practices as an administrator as it has many great ideas and research driven suggestions on how to lead effectively as a new administrator.
This artifact is an Entry Plan into administration. This artifact meets the competency because it includes multiple administrative goals that reach all the way from 3 months up until 10 years from the start. This artifact has 3 administrative goals in order to implement experiential learning. These goals include the following: 1. Assembling a curriculum team of both teachers and administrators. 2. Team up with the community and parents for collaboration on curriculum. 3. Be halfway done with developing the math curriculum. The three objectives to accomplish each goal would be to 1. set a school schedule with a 0 hour so students can experience an apprenticeship in a variety of areas (3 months), 2. Focus on investors who have a passion for experiential learning (6 months),and 3. Have enough funding in place to be able to implement the curriculum for 3 years (12 months). Having this artifact is beneficial because it has a variety of goals and objectives in order to set oneself up for success when getting into administration for the first time in any given school building.
This artifact is the Vision and Plan for Professional Development. This artifact meets the competency because it discusses various ways an administrator should be focused on what coaching and mentoring of staff looks like which is still considered professional development. This artifact supports the beliefs, values, and effective leadership by including various checklists in order to be a leader that is seeking to make good change in a building. This includes 10 guidelines from Hargreaves and Fullan in order to make change with teachers. This artifact also focuses on the needs of educators so that student's learning is maximized as well as specific steps for future implementation. The 10 specific steps include developing a work plan for instructional coaches as well as any person conducting professional development.
