Transformational Leadership is an effective way to lead people in order to allow them to be successful in anything they do. Advertising giant, David Ogilvy , would give a Matrioshka doll to those that became head of an advertising office. He gave this as a gift so that if they were ever curious and opened each doll, the smallest one would have the following message inside of it in regards to the philosophy of transformational leadership: "If each of us hires people who are smaller than we are, we shall become a company of dwarfs. But if each of us hires people who are bigger than we are, we shall become a company of giants.'" This is to say that when we lead people in a transformational way rather than a transactional way, they are empowered to become the best versions of themselves, which in turn allows the business to be the best version of itself.
Throughout this portfolio, the recurring theme is Transformational Leadership which will be evident through a relevant quote that matches the standards in order to paint a clearer picture of all the artifacts that will be joined together under each standard. Each standard will have a quote that matches the topic at hand, and will further strengthen the bond between every standard and the theme of transformational leadership.
Administrative Candidates for licensure/certification are expected to develop the professional knowledge base, skills, and dispositions identified in the WI standards as aligned with the ISLLC 2008-Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) and the National Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) at a level generally associated with beginning administrators. Proficiency is demonstrated in part through the presentation of a personal portfolio which accommodates the developing patterns of evidence prior to the application for licensure. This is considered a “High Stakes” portfolio, meaning that the candidate must bear the responsibility to demonstrate readiness to carry out and accept the responsibilities, duties and decision-making expectations of a beginning administrator.
