The final project has arrived. When the assignment was posted, I thought long and hard about what I wanted to present. I had four options: color, night, circles, or street portraits. I chose color to capture the intensity of color the world offers. I was excited to take pictures of anything that screamed color to me. I wanted different colors to showcase a range of emotions. I started with this project a week before allowing myself to take multiple photos in other parts of town. I am excited to show you my work with color.
I first started with flowers, which are such unique and intense colors. I took multiple photos in close range to capture the sharpest picture. For every photo I have of a flower in my project, there are 10 – 15 of them in Lightroom Classic that I felt did not make the cut.
The Koi fishes I took risks in different positions to capture the best of the fishes to capture, their colors of white, orange, and black. It was interesting working with water and finding out how I can deflect the natural light to catch the entire fish.
The glow sticks were fun. I wanted to capture nighttime photos with color. The best solution I came up with was using glow sticks in the dark. I used the skills I learned from the nighttime shoot and created cool pictures of light trails. I am excited to take more pictures of light paths.
This exciting project opened me to looking at the world differently. Anything can be taken as a picture; I must position myself and have the correct numbers on my camera. I am thrilled to continue mastering my camera and photography.
