During the 2022 and 2023 winterims, the Criminology Department teamed up with the Theatre Department to build recreations of Frances Glessner Lee's "Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Deaths," which are one-inch scale model dollhouses of crime scenes constructed to teach forensic science. We worked to recreate every detail, including clues that would help criminology student solve the case, as well as red herrings. Through this project, I honed skills such as upholstery. costume design, and construction. The nature of the collaboration gave me the opportunity to create much more detailed props than are generally required for stage productions.Â
