Also, during my time at Barre Town School, I created a "Technology Action Team," that worked on getting more teachers connected and growing their PLNs using Twitter and Instagram. We now have a large group of teachers sharing and connecting using social media. This group also created a survey to see what technology teachers are using and what they are interested in using and learning more about. This information was presented to the technology director in hopes for starting a conversation about how to bring in new technology and training for educators. Also while in this group, we gathered a group of teachers who took an online class called, "Social Media for Educators," taught by Michael Berry. This class helped teachers learn different uses of social media in their classrooms and schools.
I'm currently working with my technology director to bring in new tools and tech into our schools. Recently I have requested a district license for PearDeck in order to be able to use some of the "paid for" features of their service. I also have been working closely with bringing in Virtual Reality tools. Currently we are working on getting Google Cardboard kits in order to use virtual reality in our school. I also have tried using Oculus headsets in collaboration with the tech team.
