My name is Jess VanOrman and I'm currently the Barre Virtual Academy Coordinator from Barre Town School. I have been teaching for 15 years and have experience teaching in grades 2, 4, and 6. I also spent a year as the Eduacationl Technology Specialist. On top of teaching, I also coach our middle school field hockey team and run our yearbook club.

I am an active member of my learning community. I am a Google Certified Level Two educator. I have been recognized by VITA-Learn as an IGNITE recipient, for the innovative use of technology. I have been a keynote speaker at Dynamic Landscapes in 2018, and I also presented at Dynamic Landscapes in 2019.

If you asked my students how they would describe me, they may tell you I'm strict, have high expectations, but I'm also fun. Those things may seem to contradict each other, but if you hold students to a high standard, they will rise to the challenge and be able to enjoy their learning experiences.
