As an ELA teacher, implementing the Google Suite of tools for instruction and assessment have been quite natural. In an effort to make the information writing piece of my curriculum more interesting, I strayed away from the typical curriculum to use the latest craze, Fidget Spinners, to change the informational writing unit. Students were asked to investigate whether or not Fidget Spinners were actually a good form of a fidget, they then needed to create either a Google Site or Google Presentation to share their findings, and to design a better fidget that would be used in the classroom. Below is the site I used to launch the project and share resources with students. Also below are examples students created for the project. Also included is the WCAX link from when they came to school and interviewed students and me about this project!
Due to sharing settings of our district, I can only include a picture of the website. This was one page from the student created site. You can see the pages that the student included in their site; pros, cons, benefits, my design, and sources.
