The Copenhagen Waltz, with variations for the pianoforte, was composed by Jean Theodore Latour, (1766–1837), a French pianist and composer. Latour was appointed official pianist to the Prince Regent, later King George IV, of the United Kingdom. The Copenhagen Waltz was first printed in London c. 1820-1821. The sheet music below was printed in Philadelphia and sold at G. Willig’s Music Store.
The Battle of Prague was a favorite sonata for the pianoforte, composed by Franz Kotzwara (1730-1791). Born in Prague, throughout his career he performed with various European orchestras. This piece was popular during the late 18th and 19th centuries. Mark Twain even mentions it in Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and A Tramp Abroad.
