During Jerusha’s life, The Wayside Inn welcomed travelers providing room and board and shelter for animals. Jerusha’s generation bore the blessing and burden of carrying on the legacy of the Inn and upholding the reputation of their Revolutionary War hero grandfather and successful businessman father. As the oldest daughter, Jerusha’s role was hostess alongside her mother.
