DMET 520 - Selection and Application of Learning Technologies
Research, problem solving and product development of technological applications.
The Ideal Learning Environment was a project where we were to design a learning environment based on our philsophy and research. We were to design it as if there were no obstacles to our plan. We then were to post our description, philsosphy, budget, accompanying lesson plan and our resources. I based my philsophy on prior research I did for an earlier project, then did further research to strengthen my positions.
All of the elements of the project required extensive research and needed to align together in order for the environment to be successful. Research also needed to go into appropriate pricing in order to create a realistic budget. Finally, we utilized technology to enhance the project. We used a VOKI to add an engaging introduction to the website. We also utilized an application titled Floor Planner, which allowed for us to illustrate our ideal learning environment.
This project, while it was a great amount of work, was one of my favorites. Using a variety of elements to design our environment made it more engaging and added creativity. I liked the tools we used: Google sites, Voki, and Floor Planner. These elements can easily be integrated with a variety of instructional lessons or modules. It was fun to design and illustrate our "ideal learning environment." Planning for the success of our future learners added a layer of purpose to the project above others we have done.
